Ikponmwosa Iyegbekedo Bright, a graduate student in WVU’s Department of Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering (PNGE), has been selected by University Research Showcase Selection Committee to present his research at the SHALE INSIGHT 2025 in Erie, PA.
Under the guidance of Professor Ebrahim Fathi, Bright’s work on “Simultaneous Well Spacing and Completion Optimization Using an Automated Machine Learning Approach” stood out in a competitive nationwide selection, earning him one of only eight spots in the showcase.
The second edition of my book, "Hydraulic Fracturing in Unconventional Reservoirs Second Edition, Theories, Operations, and Economic Analysis," ISBN: 9780128176658, Gulf Professional Publishing, will be released by June 2019.
The second edition presents the latest operations and applications in all facets of fracturing. Enhanced to include today’s newest technologies, such as machine learning and the monitoring of field performance using pressure and rate transient analysis, this reference gives engineers the full spectrum of information needed to run unconventional field developments. Covering key aspects, including fracture clean-up, expanded material on refracturing and a discussion on economic analysis in unconventional reservoirs, this book keeps today's petroleum engineers updated on the critical aspects of unconventional activity.
